"Our involvement with Mike and the Out To Learn team has transformed our approach to outdoor learning and has seen a very natural evolution of the way in which we plan and deliver outdoor activities for our children.

Mike and the team have very quickly become valuable members of our school family and I have been so pleased with the way in which we are able to work so collaboratively.

The children love Mike and are always enthusiastic to be involved with his sessions. We are all really excited about where this will lead and can already see the positive outcomes that this work has had on the whole school's well-being and mindfulness."

“Through their own efforts, the children have taken ownership of the project, having personally dug holes, measured and cut timber, and constructed the necessary infrastructure. This sense of ownership fuels their genuine participation in its growth.”

As outdoor education consultants, our primary focus lies in sustainability and fostering a genuine connection with nature. Our mission is to instil a deep care for our planet by helping schools seamlessly integrate outdoor education into their daily routines, all while alleviating any additional burden on staff.

We initiate the process with a thorough site survey to identify outdoor education opportunities. We’ve successfully assisted schools in establishing sheltered ‘base camp’ areas and designated spaces for cultivating fruits and vegetables, with students actively engaged in the responsibilities.

Students actively participate in a range of activities, including woodworking, gardening, and cooking, which equips them with essential life skills. In addition, we provide instruction on the safe use of fire and tools to further enhance their connection with nature and cultural heritage.

If you’re eager to transform your school’s outdoor space into a nature-centred educational environment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will tailor a plan that aligns with your educational goals while minimising the workload for your staff. Together, let’s nurture a sustainable future and instil a genuine love for our planet. Nature always finds a way to express itself. This week we were looking at the effect of laying cardboard over the beds in the #polytunnel and why it stops growth. This little one took advantage of a single staple hole in the cardboard offering us a valuable insight into how plants grow.... so we sang a song about it 😉 #natureeducation #outdoorlearning #powerofnature #kidsinnature
