Alternative Provision for EBSNA & Other Needs
An offsite AP balancing the need for freedom with curricular progression
Emotion Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA, EBSA) has increased in recent years creating a challenge for schools to fulfil their obligation to provide a suitable education. Our three day offsite alternative provision blends the freedom of outdoor learning with the structure of core subject learning.

Opening this summer the project grew out of a collaboration with local SENDCOs and families who needed something different. Our setting supports the children emotionally with small group sizes and plenty of outdoor freedom while maintaining the focus on curricular progression with the aim of eventual return to school.

Designed as a solution to Emotion-Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA, EBSA), where the focus needs to be on maintaining academic progress and interest while giving the child the space required to regulate and feel safe. This alternative provision (AP) enables all parties to work together to support the child’s holistic development.
As an established OFSTED-registered provider of offsite and onsite alternative provisions, Out to Learn is perfectly placed to support children emotionally through access to and engagement with nature. Facilitated by a SEND-experienced team of tutors, teachers, and outdoor educators, we understand how to achieve this delicate balance.
We can support EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) packages and contribute to fulfilling child’s EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) outcomes . Full reporting is included in this service, ensuring you are fully informed of the child’s progress.
Blending Forest School, Outdoor Education, Mentoring, and Tutoring (English, Science, and Maths), this is the perfect solution.

A fun-filled celebration of music, wellbeing, discovery and pizza at Out to Learn’s newest Alternative Provision site in Kings Langley.
Featuring a live performance and interactive workshop with acclaimed folk duo MEGSON.
Children (and adults!) will have the chance to explore musical instruments, rhythms, and their own creativity in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
And because music is best enjoyed with good food, we’ll be serving fresh, homemade pizzas from our very ow pizza oven – with a choice of toppings.

Nature always finds a way to express itself. This week we were looking at the effect of laying cardboard over the beds in the #polytunnel and why it stops growth. This little one took advantage of a single staple hole in the cardboard offering us a valuable insight into how plants grow.... so we sang a song about it 😉 #natureeducation #outdoorlearning #powerofnature #kidsinnature
