Nature based alternative provision

Lead by qualified teachers, we support students, both on and off the school roll, who require bespoke solutions in order to progress through their academic journey and beyond.

“Nature and the outdoors offer a therapeutic environment that supports physical and mental health, helping children connect with the world around them. “ Mike Williams – Founder

Out to Learn provides specialist alternative provision for children and young people aged 7 to 14 with SEND and SEMH needs (with or without an EHCP), who benefit from a nurturing, small-group environment outside of mainstream education.

Our sessions are led by qualified teachers and combine academic learning with nature-based experiences, placing a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing and personal development. This approach creates a safe, engaging space where pupils can rebuild confidence and rediscover a love of learning.

Our provision is particularly suited to children who are anxious, disengaged, or struggling to thrive in traditional classroom settings. Through a personalised, holistic programme,
we help them reconnect with learning in a way that feels meaningful and supportive. All sessions are trauma-informed, child-led, and designed to meet each learner’s unique needs.

A peaceful place in nature where young people are valued, supported, and gently guided to regain trust, resilience, and a sense of possibility.

Starting February 2026

Our brand new session Urban Nature is an exciting opportunity for young people to experience street-style art and movement in a nature based setting.

Here, graffiti-style art meets parkour, but with an eco-conscious twist – no spray paints, no tagging, just pure artistic expression and movement in harmony with the natural world. It’s a chance for young people to explore their creativity, challenge themselves physically and connect with nature in a fresh, exciting way.

Participants will flow through outdoor spaces, experimenting with movement and physical challenges while expressing themselves through nature-based street art techniques.

Whether leaping over obstacles , creating vibrant designs with sustainable materials, or discovering new ways to move through the environment, every session is an adventure waiting to happen.
