Sustainability for a better future
Our activities are rooted in the outdoors, and we protect the places we explore. Our promise is to operate ethically, minimise our footprint, and promote environmental awareness in all we do.

“The climate crisis is a child rights crisis, and every child must have the opportunity to become an agent of change. Education is the most powerful tool for climate resilience, equipping young people not just with knowledge, but with the necessary green skills and sense of agency to protect their world.” UNICEF (Global Climate Action Strategy)
At Out to Learn, we recognise that genuine, impactful education must be connected to the world around us. Our work, delivered in natural and outdoor environments, places us in a unique position to foster environmental respect and literacy among all participants. We believe that an understanding of sustainability, climate change, and biodiversity is fundamental to personal growth and future citizenship. This perspective guides our operational choices, ensuring that our methods align with the very places that inspire our learning sessions.
As the wider education sector moves toward a whole-setting approach to sustainability, we see our responsibility as inherent to our mission. We are actively working to formalise our existing commitments into a clear, strategic framework that covers everything from our operational efficiency to the resources we use. By embedding these practices, we ensure that every session we run is not just enriching for the individual, but also a responsible contribution to a greener future, preparing young people with the awareness and agency required for a world affected by climate change.
Our classroom extends into nature. We encourage curiosity, deep appreciation, and responsibility for every ecosystem we explore.
